Porsche Middle East and Africa reports best third quarter in past five years
With a healthy five per cent growth year-on-year, Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE (PME) announces its best third quarter results in the past five years. In total, 1,710 new cars were delivered between July and September to Porsche customers in the GCC, Levant, Africa and India. Along with other measures, the newly developed “JumPStart” strategy, which provides an overarching growth plan to deliver maximum assistance to all business partners across the region, supported the strong quarterly business performance.
“Our third quarter result is a testimony to the commitment and hard work the entire organization put in to prepare for the time when business would resume to somewhat normal conditions. The implementation of new initiatives, creative ideas and expanded support measures meant that our importers were ready to hit the ground running as soon as business restarted. For this, we joined forces with our business partners to ensure that we could turn challenges into opportunities,“ comments Dr Manfred Braeunl, Chief Executive Officer at Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE.
He adds: “The next months will continue to be demanding. A lot more work is waiting for us and we need to remain very flexible in our approach considering individual market needs. With our new products and the longstanding partnership we have with our importers, I am optimistic that we will see growth next year.”
In line with the global trend, the brand’s flagship SUV, the Cayenne, has seen a strong increase in new car deliveries. Thanks to the introduction of the Coupe version in autumn last year, the model has further extended its lead across the region. Next is the popular Macan, which continuously enjoys a high interest by customers. The product offering in the two-door sports car segment is expanding with the addition of the 911 Turbo S as well as the 911 Targa 4 and 4S.
One of the most significant launches will take place in the upcoming weeks and months. Available in three variants comprising the 4S, Turbo and Turbo S, the Taycan writes a new chapter in Porsche’s 70-year history as it welcomes in the era of electromobility for the luxury sports car manufacturer. Featuring unmistakable Porsche design and incredible performance, this all-electric model generates up to 761 PS. The fastest model in the range, the Turbo S, accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 2.8 sec – the same as the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, a purebred, two-seater sports car.
The coming months will see further model introductions, amongst them the popular Cayenne GTS and the 718 models with 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engines featuring automatic transmission.
In addition, Porsche has announced the official start of sale for the new Panamera, offering best-in-class performance, enhanced comfort and stability, as well as a sharper visual appearance. It combines the performance of a sports car with the comfort of a luxury saloon. Pending market availability, customers are able to choose from three Panamera plug-in hybrid models for the first time with an enhanced all-electric range by up to 30 per cent.
