Infinite customization possibilities and the thrill of outdoor adventure was the focus of Lexus’ presence at the Tokyo Auto Salon and Tokyo Outdoor Show, held at Makuhari Messe from January 13-15.
At the Tokyo Auto Salon, Lexus unveiled two vehicles that embody its vision of a zero-emissions society, enabling customers to enjoy a variety of lifestyles alongside their vehicles, all bolstered by a commitment to create motorsport cars time and time again. best.
The RZ Sport Concept, based on Lexus’ first dedicated BEV model, was customized under the supervision of driver Masahiro Sasaki, who also contributed to the development of the RZ. It features high-output 150kW motors at the front and rear for even more exhilarating driving performance and has been lowered by 35mm. It features custom aerodynamic parts, larger diameter tires and racing-style seats, while the exterior colour, ‘Hakugin’, has a pure white base with a subtle shimmer texture, enhanced blue detailing to evoke dynamic and zero-emissions performance typical of BEVs.
TEAM JAOS LX 600 “OFFROAD” participated in the Baja 1000 on November 15-20, 2022 in Mexico’s Baja Peninsula, a demanding non-stop race over 1,600 km of rugged terrain, where it competed in a class for production vehicles not modified. Lexus will launch its Overtrail project at the Tokyo Outdoor Show to highlight a variety of outdoor experiences, from simple picnics or camping in nature, to off-road adventures in inhospitable environments. The name of the project combines the words “overland” and “trail” to emphasize a connection with nature and the opening of new paths, emphasized by three vehicle concepts.
The RX Outdoor Concept is based on the new RX 450h+ Plug-in Hybrid Electric and features exclusive equipment for an active outdoor lifestyle, while the ROV Concept 2 inherits the off-road capabilities and hydrogen-powered engine of the ROV (Recreational Off- highway Vehicle) original, combining a vision of carbon neutrality with the emotional sensations of a combustion engine. Both concept models are clad in an exclusive exterior color called “Regolith”, which combines matte texture, brilliance and toughness, drawing inspiration from the microscopic particles that accumulate on the surface of celestial bodies.
Based on the GX 460 luxury SUV, the GX Outdoor Concept is equipped with special equipment to deliver an authentic outdoor experience even in the harshest environments.
