The fashion icon received the 2023 Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion. The awards ceremony was held on March 5 in Paris, with the entire Cucinelli family in attendance.

The Neiman Marcus Award is a historic fashion award that the Dallas-based luxury retail group has been awarding luminaries in fashion since the 1930s. Brunello Cucinelli joins the hallowed ranks of fashion royalty with this award, kept company by past recipients such as Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, and Miuccia Prada, to name just a few.

The designer’s service to the fashion industry, embodied by his ethos of humanistic capitalism, and sustainable luxury have earned him the well-deserved reputation as a stalwart of quality. This is also reflected in his industry moniker of ‘The King of Cashmere’.

The award thus comes as recognition of hard work, principled design, and a distinct creative voice.

Mr. Cucinelli, who is the brand’s Creative Director and Executive Chairman, celebrated his win with his family, saying that he is “flattered and full of gratitude toward Neiman Marcus, one of the world’s highest expressions of fashion and luxury. I sincerely thank Geoffroy van Raemdonck and all the collaborators whom we have had the pleasure of working and engaging with throughout these fruitful twenty years”.
