Following the opening of The St. Regis Amman this summer, the brand
hosted a celebratory invite-only Midnight Supper in partnership with Vogue Arabia to mark its debut in Jordan. The exclusive event brought together the city’s luminaries and high society including renowned Jordanian actress and producer Saba Mubarak for an evening of refined elegance and exquisite glamour. The actress features in a short film produced by Vogue Arabia to celebrate the Jordanian debut of the St. Regis brand, which was exclusively unveiled at the gathering.

One of the many cherished traditions of the St. Regis brand, the Midnight Supper was established by Caroline Astor, mother of the St. Regis founder and doyenne for Gilded Age high society, as the original after party for her coveted gatherings. Traditionally commencing at midnight, they now conclude at this hour. These intimate gatherings were, and remain, treasured chapters in the St. Regis brand’s social heritage to celebrate grand debuts and the bestowing of “connoisseurship” on selected Luminaries.

Carrying on this tradition and seamlessly blending the sophistication and heritage of the original St. Regis New York with Jordan’s rich Bedouin culture, the thoughtfully curated Midnight Supper introduced guests to the magnificent property through an unparalleled experience befitting of the destination and true to the St. Regis legacy.

Speaking on the occasion, Alex Kyriakidis, President and Managing Director, Middle East & Africa, for Marriott International, said: “St. Regis is one of the most time-honored hotel brands in the world, rich with legacy and traditions that transcend generations and cultures to leave a lasting impression on our guests. The St. Regis Amman will be a beacon of new luxury in Jordan’s capital city and we are thrilled to bring to life the brand’s signature rituals and the promise of ‘Live Exquisite’ at Jordan’s best address.”

Guests were initiated into the celebration with a show-stopping art of sabrage ceremony by the St. Regis butlers, another customary ritual of the Astor family. They were then taken on an exquisite culinary journey set against a backdrop of olive trees and black iris detailing, embodying Jordan’s culture, past and present. The grandeur of the set up and the impeccable service perfectly complemented the five-course menu carefully crafted by the Executive Chef that included fine flavours infused with Jordanian touches, including lobster & beets, pomegranate and jameed sorbet and 36-hour braised short rib. The evening culminated in the unveiling of the short-film created by Vogue Arabia starring Saba and showcasing the exquisite beauty of Amman through the timeless rituals of St. Regis.

Manuel Arnaut, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Arabia said: “We are proud to be exclusive partners in this celebration of the launch of the new St. Regis Amman. Vogue Arabia shares with this iconic hospitality brand the same principles of excellence, style, and substance. A very special thank you to Jordanian actress Saba Mubarak, who embarked on this journey with us and starred in the video and photo shoot celebrating this partnership.”

The magnificent 16-story hotel offers 260 lavishly appointed guestrooms, suites and serviced apartments, all which offer breath-taking views of the city, luxuriant comfort and intuitive amenities.
