Dubai, March 2019 – For the second year in a row, Mandarin Oriental, Munich is the only hotel in Germany to be awarded a Five-Star rating by Forbes Travel Guide. Published on 20 February, the guide’s 2019 edition also recognises it as one of the world’s 58 Most Luxurious Hotels, for the first time. Guests can enjoy the hotel’s top-rated amenities by booking its new Star Experience package, launched to celebrate the Forbes’ accolades.
“We are thrilled to receive this special distinction as the only Forbes Five-Star hotel in Germany, again. This internationally acclaimed award by Forbes acknowledges our daily endeavour to delight our guests with excellent service and unique experiences,” says Dominik G. Rreiner, General Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Munich.
Forbes inspectors praised the hotel’s rooftop terrace, which they considered a perfect spot for enjoying cocktails and admiring city views, and its state-of-the-art fitness centre, as well as the availability of all the other services one would expect to find at a Mandarin Oriental hotel.
Guests booking the Star Experience package enjoy a taste of the hotel’s Five-Star hospitality immediately upon arrival at Munich airport, where they are helped with their luggage to their private limousine for a comfortable ride to the hotel. Welcomed to their suite with a bottle of Champagne, guests can look forward to a special seven-course Omakase dinner at the hotel’s Matsuhisa Munich restaurant during their stay. As a special indulgence, they can enjoy breakfast in their suite wearing personalised bathrobes presented to them by the hotel.

According to Forbes, few hotels meet its exacting standards for a Five-Star ranking, which is the guide’s highest level of recognition and much coveted by operators throughout the hospitality industry.
The only independent, global rating authority for luxury hotels, restaurants and spas, the Forbes Travel Guide was originally published as the Mobil Travel Guide in 1958 and was the first to create a Five-Star classification system in the United States. Today, its inspectors travel the world incognito, evaluating properties based on up to 900 rigorous, objective standards.
The Forbes Travel Guide Star Ratings, reviews and daily travel stories help discerning travellers select the world’s best luxury hospitality and wellness experiences.
