Covering a desert expanse of 7,800 kms in Saudi Arabia, the Dakar Rally of 2020, which was held for the first time in the Middle East offered the racing participants a challenging route covering all types of sand from Jeddah to Riyadh.
In a country where the desert is king and in a race which pushes man and machine to the limits, Kärcher, as the technical partner, provided the much needed technical support to all participants with the presence of the Kärcher 4×4 Mobile Cleaning Center. Kärcher set up cleaning stations for the teams in 6 bivouacs as well as the finishing line, and committed to clean all competitors vehicles in every station inclusive of 158 bikes, 28 quads, 92 cars, 50 trucks and 73 SSVs to remove the sand, dust and dirt.
The specially constructed truck was equipped with extensive cleaning equipment and also collected the dirty water. Modern pressure washers, which can save up to 80% of the fresh water in comparison with manual washing with a water hose, were used for cleaning at the stations thus making it an environment-friendly alternative which achieved better results in less time.
Juffali Technical Equipment, the partners and distributors of Kärcher in Saudi Arabia also extended their support to the event with their association and presence.
