Hackett London, Spring Summer ’19
‘I would say Hackett offers a quintessential men’s wardrobe. It’s a uniform really, but done well, with a good cut and good cloth. We produce clothes that have a bespoke look about them but are affordable’ Quote by Jeremy Hackett, Founder and Chairman of Hackett London
The Spring Summer ’19 collection by Hackett London delves into the needs of a man’s wardrobe, his necessities and lifestyle. Introducing two key trends for the season; British Khaki and British Seaside, Hackett London offer a plethora of elegant yet humble items that together, build an effortless wardrobe around the clock.
British Khaki best expresses an honest wardrobe of everyday items made from humble fabrics with an elegant upgrade. The collection is comprised of supple denim shirts in varying shades of blue, from rich indigo to washed out, soft shades which are best shown layered in key looks, 2, 6 and 7.
Tailoring is subtly featured throughout the trend, this time with a relaxed and soft silhouette. The blazer, is an essential part of any man’s wardrobe and has always been a hero Hackett item. Look 1 features a rich khaki, silk linen fabric mix, delicately finished with a navy over check. Woven in the UK by mill Marley and Evans, this blazer offers comforting elegance, paired with white cotton denim trousers and a shirt and tie for the sartorially inclined. Look 2, features an unstructured blazer made from 97% cotton for ultimate breathability in the warmer climates with 3% elastane for comfort and stretch whilst on the move; woven in Italy, this super stretch blazer is a robust yet refined design.
British Khaki would not be complete without a Safari Jacket, as seen in Look 5. Made from a cotton and linen mix, this jacket is unstructured whilst featuring a smart notch lapel and 4 patch pockets. Paired with a cotton madras shirt and olive green chinos softly rolled up at the ankle, our gent is ready to take on the everyday. British Khaki is comprised of a neat colour palette made up of traditional khaki’s, olive green, muddy beige with nuances of pinks, soft whites, ecru and the classic Hackett blue. Soft, pastel pink is a key colour for the trend discreetly transcending through all looks with a charming tone.
As Jeremy Hackett would say, ‘always invest in good shoes.’ The Spring Summer 19 shoe collection for Hackett London includes a variety of styles with a strong emphasis on texture and fabrics, making this final addition to a gent’s look no less considered. Deck shoes are new to the matrix and available in madras check with brown leather detailing and laces as well as a refined trainer in rich brown suede with beige paneling for a chic athletic style.
Inspired by Jeremy Hackett’s personal bag range, Hackett London British Khaki introduces a 48 hour holdall, 24 holdall, a briefcase and a washbag, all of which are replicas of Jeremy Hackett’s personal bag collection which he had made back in the late 80’s and still uses to this day. Made from sturdy cotton canvas fabric and finished with calf leather handles, trims and fastened with the famous ‘H’ buckles; this new addition of bags are rugged and have been designed to be used and to made to travel. Available in off white and navy combinations.
British Seaside, is the second trend for Hackett London. The in-house design team take us on a playful and dreamy journey of nostalgic seaside joy with timeless summer dressing. A primary colour palette of navy, red, green and yellow makes up this trend with beautifully soft textures emulating the seaside waves and soft grains of sand.
Colour block is a key trend for British Seaside as best shown in key looks 6, 7 and 9. Look 9 features a 100% linen, multi panel shirt, cut in the Hackett Brompton slim fit and is an effortless item made to be worn without no extra fuss or styling needed. Elegantly paired with white cotton denim trousers and trainers, our gentleman is ready for a summertime adventure.
Shorts are back and Hackett London offers a style for every occasion. Smart and tailored shorts are best shown in Look 1 designed with an abstract thick and thin nautical stripe inspired by traditional seaside sweet rock or pic ‘n’ mix delights. Soft ‘throw on’ shorts have been designed with comfort and practicality at the core as seen in Look 3. Featuring a draw string waistband these shorts are ideally worn over your swimming attire, are lightweight and ideal for active afternoons by the sea. Styled with a round neck T, and linen check scarf, the Hackett gentleman can go from surf side to deck side in one look.
For the cooler summer evenings and countryside excursions, Hackett London offers a rich, burnt orange windbreaker with a zip out hood, shoulder plackets and button down large pockets. Made for the summer holidays, this item is waterproof and wind proof making this is a key outwear investment piece.
Accessories are utilitarian and include bold statement beach towels, a vast array of printed swim shorts and matching flip flops all of which have been dutifully designed exuding the Hackett lifestyle.
