13 March 2019 – Following the recent regional launch of CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet, the Swiss Haute Horlogerie Manufacture shines focus on the Selfwinding model.
For the first time, Audemars Piguet presents a collection designed for both men and women, with an arched ergonomic 41mm diameter case. The collection’s highly recognisable case presents an octagonal middlecase embedded within a round caseback and bezel. Only welded to the extra-thin bezel, the openworked lugs add a degree of complexity. Satin-brushed, chamfered and polished, the bezel, lugs and case present refined finishing techniques usually found on calibres.
The Selfwinding model with hours, minutes, seconds and date indication features a lacquered dial enhanced by a gold case, an applied gold 3-D Audemars Piguet signature made in galvanic growth, as well as curved gold indexes and Arabic numerals. The watch is powered by an all-new selfwinding movement, calibre 4302, featuring a dedicated 22-carat gold oscillating weight. The movement operates at 4Hz (= 28,800 vibrations/hour) and has a power reserve of 70 hours.
Four variations are available: two pink gold models with either a black or white dial, and two white gold models with a blue or black dial. Straps are hand-stitched ‘large square scale’ alligator in brown, black or blue, with white or pink gold pin buckles.
CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet represents one of the most important and comprehensive launches by Audemars Piguet. The collection consists of 6 in-house calibres, which in addition to the Selfwinding model includes a Selfwinding Chronograph, a Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon, a Perpetual Calendar, a Tourbillon Openworked and a Minute Repeater Supersonnerie.
