Ramadan is a time of spiritual growth and practicing mindfulness, as such, Hilton (NYSE: HLT), in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) West Asia and Winnow Solutions, has announced its Green Ramadan initiative, which will see food waste reduction efforts implemented across its Conrad Dubai property in United Arab Emirates.
The strategic partnership will combine Hilton’s net-zero goals and UNEP’s food waste reduction campaign with Winnow’s AI technology, allowing for digitally-led tracking of food waste throughout the month of fasting.
The initiative, under the “Recipe of Change” campaign, will run throughout the holy month, with various measures put in place to reduce food waste and drive awareness around sustainability. Conrad Dubai team will be serving sustainable, plant-based, locally sourced food items with an aim to guide and promote awareness centered on mindful carbon impact and reducing food waste, while maintaining healthy and high-quality food.
The plant-based options include the Chef’s Garden, a selection of fresh vegetables such as baby gem, tomatoes, spinach as well as cucumber and avocado Gazpacho, hummus with tamari baked veg dippers, cauliflower and puy lentil tabouleh.
