On the occasion of the Only Watch 2019 charity auction, Jaeger-LeCoultre is presenting its new creation: the Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Enamel Chestnut
Under the distinguished patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, the eighth edition of the biennial and charitable Only Watch event will once again go on a promotional world tour, with stops in Europe, the US, Asia and the Middle East.
Watchmaking innovation at the service of medical research
In keeping with tradition, the 2019 edition of the Only Watch event will kick off in Monaco from 25 to 28 September. The event will come to a close in Geneva from 7 to 9 November, where the charity auction will take place, the proceeds of which will go towards medical research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Association monégasque contre les myopathies. This year, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture is honoured to be included among other major names in the watchmaking industry to promote the event and participate in this worthy cause. The Manufacture will be offering a unique piece to be included in the auction: the Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Enamel Chestnut. This white gold piece is instantly charming with its hand-guillochéd enamel dial in a striking chestnut colour.
New Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 868A/2
with automatic winding In keeping with the emblematic aesthetic codes of the Master Ultra Thin collection, this new piece highlights the talents of the Manufacture’s artisans who work together in the Rare Handcrafts™ (Métiers Rares®) workshop. The Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Enamel Chestnut captivates as soon as the gaze lands on its generously sized dial, perfectly adapted to the different lifestyles of men today. The timepiece’s perfectly balanced hand-guillochéd dial gives pride of place to four beautifully proportioned counters, including a new display of the perpetual calendar at 12 o’clock. At 6 o’clock there is a subtle moon phase that simultaneously indicates the moon’s waxing and waning phases in both hemispheres. To give full justice to this virtuoso spectacle, we would be remiss if we failed to mention the workmanship on the engraved counter, whose elegant purity is enhanced by the scintillating sparkle of the dial’s beautiful chestnut brown translucent enamel. The date counter is featured at 9 o’clock, with the days of the week at 3 o’clock. The full splendour of the sunburst guilloché radiates on the dial, providing the Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Enamel Chestnut with an impression of relief and depth. The guillochage work was carried out by hand on both the dial and the counters by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s artisans, who bring all of their expertise to bear with rare precision, working with age-old machines and tools in the purest watchmaking tradition. A unique piece to help support a noble cause.
