Merry and Bright

A fun alternative to to the traditional Christmas colour palettes, merry and bright is all about livening up your home in new ways. According to the online marketplace, there has been a 346 per cent increase in searches for disco ball decor, and 24 per cent search increase for colourful wreaths. As well as Pampas grass or coloured trees.
Selo comments “this playful look is all about experimenting with colour in adventurous ways. Explore with a popping spectrum of multi-colour jewel baubles and bright festive décor touches throughout the home clashing matte and shiny textures.”

White Christmas Trees

White Christmas trees are the most popular Christmas decoration trend across Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok this season. Whether you opt for a white tinsel tree or go with the snowy look of a flocked Christmas tree, the white backdrop will make your ornaments pop.

Nahel Selo comments “this look works well with blush pinks, soft blues and pastel mint greens – mix decorations and create an almost eclectic feel, combining decorations with different textures and themes, such as velvet bauble, feathers, roped pearls and crystal pieces. Team with
a set of festive designed throw pillows – at Sedar we have launched a special seasonal collection in collaboration with Swarovski that are handmade in our atelier using crystal designs”

Go For Gold

Shiny and decadent, gold is an elegant colour choice when it comes to decorating your festive interior. It pairs beautifully with traditional greenery such as mistletoe, and can also be given a contemporary spin with the addition of glitter. Gold Christmas decorations make for a bold style statement in your home, perfect if you love an opulent look.
Selo suggests “when it comes to styling gold Christmas decorations, work it into a traditional colour palette for a classic yet luxurious look. This will also make your home feel cosy thanks to gold’s warm undertone. It goes particularly well with other colours often considered festive, such as deep reds and deep greens.”

Classic Crimson

Nothing says Christmas like the classic combination of green and red. Start with gorgeous green foliage and add bursts of berry colours in candles, stocking, oversized baubles, cushions, plenty of fairy lights and nostalgic stockings, along with some wooden elements.

Nahel Selo adds “red and traditional décor is perfect for incorporating natural foliage into festive. The trend for natural foliage remerged as a trend several years ago but it really has picked up for festive 2022, interiors will see more real trees and real garlands draped on the stairs and the mantel.”
