In 2020, Chinese New Year celebrates the Rat, an optimistic and energetic animal. The iconic venue of Jumeirah at Etihad Towers which also features the same attributes, invites guests to revel in the exciting activities they have across the hotel.

On Friday 24th January guests can indulge in a China Town Brunch at Abu Dhabi’s favourite brunch venue,Nahaam. When guests enter the restaurant, they will be greeted by hostesses in traditional Chinese dress, where they can make the most of the bubbly wall with Chinese writing that translates to Happy New Year and immerse themselves in the Chinese themed décor throughout the venue.

Special red cherry blossom popsicles will be passed around – emphasising the Chinese flag – and alongside the delicious array of Chinese delicacies, live stations and Chinese hops and grapes, diners will also be entertained by the live lion dance which will glide elegantly through the venue.

Guests will also have the chance to take part in the raffle to win a brunch for two in the future.

For those who prefer to celebrate with dinner plans, Rosewater will be hosting a Chinese-themed Buffet on Friday 24th January from 7pm-11pm where guests can enjoy a multitude of Asian inspired dishes from the numerous stations. They can also enjoy the live lion dance as it arrives at the restaurant to entertain revelers.

On Chinese New Year’s Day from 12.30pm until 3.30pm the themed buffet returns to Rosewater for those looking for a place to celebrate during the day with friends, family and of course, food.

The Lobby Lounge nestled under the stunning crystal chandeliers will also host Chinese New Year Celebrations on the weekend. Starting on Friday 24th January from 6pm-7pm with the ‘eye-opening’ ceremony, conducted when a new head is used in a live lion dance, to essentially bring the lion ‘to life’ before it starts its dance.
