Hackett Autumn Winter 2019
Hackett’s Autumn Winter 2019 collection has been designed to keep up with the modern gentleman’s pace of life, ensuring that he’s impeccably dressed in both the city and the country. This season, Hackett London focuses on two key trends, Modern Heritage and New Country, while Hackett Mayfair revisits classic autumnal essentials and adds a revived confidence to business suiting.
For Hackett London, Modern Heritage spotlights Hackett classics and gives them a contemporary twist in the form of traditional overcoats, modern outerwear, bold checked suiting and updated knitwear. Simple layering is a strong foundation for this trend, where we have reimagined the excitement of collecting items, adding them to your wardrobe and therefore giving it a subtle but all-important upgrade.
The collection has adopted a muted, autumnal tone in line with the season’s changing colours and the concept of getting one’s wardrobe organised ahead of returning to work after the summer. Hero outerwear is of the utmost importance, where countryside classics have been reinterpreted in line with the urban gentleman’s needs; a softened tweed jacket, a lightweight down parka, layering that can be mixed and matched.
Throughout the collection, a strong sartorial element has been weaved into outerwear. In Look 5, the Fancy Arctic Parka has been created to blend style and functionality between both an urban and rural existence. Herringbone, a cloth traditionally used in Hackett tailoring, has been used and adds to its strong sartorial standing. We have paired it with a Belgravia fit brown wool Gunclub suit which has been weaved using a traditional vertical spinning by Abraham Moon – the last mill in the UK to adopt this technique.
Look 8 features a Personal Tailoring special with the Kensington slim tartan chinos, where strong navy and neutral tartan taps into the clashing checks trend. The blazer, which adopts a balanced mix of Glencheck and Herringbone, has been crafted using natural, undyed, English-woven wool by Marling and Evans. One of its defining features is the zip out bib, a seasonal and functional Hackett staple.
New Country is the second trend for Hackett London, where our brand DNA of traditional Old England has been reimagined with a modern, everyday twist. For this trend, emphasis is on the Hackett gentleman taking a well-dressed journey from the city to the countryside by wearing versatile outerwear and seasonal updates such as heavy knitwear and winter accessories. Look 10 taps into the all-important Heritage Knitwear trend, where our staple blue tone has been worked in the hero patchwork shawl cardigan. Made from 55% wool and 45% cotton, the piece is an upgrade on the traditional British cardigan and will work perfectly for rural excursions and urban settings alike. Look 16 heroes another key piece, our Hybrid Holborn jacket, which, with its flannel and wax exterior is the perfect piece for both city dwellers and countrymen.
Hackett Mayfair brings a renewed confidence to business suiting, where luxury and craftsmanship runs deeply through the collection’s DNA. Focus is on upgraded layering through key pieces such as the hooded quilt parka, the hybrid suede blouson jacket, cashmere-blend trousers and a double breasted Glencheck suit whose wider lapels create an authentic British fit and pronounced shoulders mirrors Jeremy’s chosen style. Look 1 spotlights a key piece of winter outerwear, the limited edition hooded quilted parka. With only 50 pieces created globally, the limited edition platinum-toned jacket has a detachable hood and is composed of jersey, nylon and down. It’s paired with a jersey polo which has been crafted with a cotton-silk blend and worn with cotton-cashmere blend cream trousers – the embodiment of luxury. Look 2 features our hybrid blouson jacket, which has been created with a suede quilted front and Italian flannel on the arms, back and trims, giving it an important point of difference. It’s also down-filled, so its thermal properties make it the perfect winter piece. Above all, this hero piece is the embodiment of Hackett’s DNA through its classic bomber shape.
For a suiting upgrade, Look 6 features the always-classic Prince of Wales checked three-piece suit in chocolate brown with a highlight overcheck in sage green – making it the perfect autumnal piece for the new season. The suit is Windsor fit, with a single breasted, two button notch lapel jacket. We’ve paired it with our Dormeuil woven tie in 100% cashmere for an added touch of luxury.
The entire Autumn Winter 2019 collection by Hackett features strong, seasonal updates that are guaranteed to take the Hackett gentleman on a stylish journey – whether he resides in the countryside or the city. The collection is available in stores globally from June 2019 and on www.hackett.com
